ESME
(The following is a transcribed message by the house human, as Torties dont "do" typing:)

Meowmy named me Esme, after the beautiful and charming vampire in the "Twilight" series--but I promise I don't bite! I love having my face, tummy and paws pet. I love to play games with Meowmy and my brother, Carlisle. I like to play fetch with Meowmy's ponytail holders and my catnip fortune cookie, and stand at the shower door and watch the water fall. Meowmy also found that she has to keep the catnip under lock and key, because I get a lilttle loopy when I get a new catnip toy. Most people find me shy, and Meowmy is always at a loss to explain, because every morning she wakes up to find me invading something she calls her "personal space," and every evening I stretch out on Meowmy when she's wearing her snuggie, and I streeeeeetch out as long as can be. Some chalk this up to "toritude" but I just call it loyalty to the one(s) I love. I am very quiet, and don't talk much, but Meowmy calls me "Twitter" because when I purr my little heart out, I make a little squeaky "twitter" noise. In fact I love cuddles. Why don't you come and meet me and let me invade YOUR personal space.

Notes from Home
Esme wakes me mornings by lightly trotting over me and wanting a tummy rub. She follows her brother Carley (short for Carlisle) everywhere and learns his tricks like drinking out of the sink faucet. Wherever Carley goes, and he's a adventuresome explorer, Esme is a few steps behind. Gentle as she is with me, she holds her ground with Ashley, a 14 pound 10 year old cat who wishes the usurpers never arrived. Carley hisses just as ferociously and in a pinch she hightails it up to her turf in the bedroom. SHe's also a chow hound.

LUCY
My name is Lucia. I am playful, sweet and so very cute, Afraid? Not one bit. I have known humans my entire life....So I love to snuggle and am the sweetest little girl, BUT I can hold my own. After all I am playing with my foster brothers every day.Ok, I am also a purr machine and love to sit on foster mom's shoulder and in addition I like to jump on her her and mess up her hair. Foster mom thinks I am absolutely adorable.

Update: I am a loving bundle of energy and just love to jump around and chase Zorro, Gino, Patches, Panda and Swoozy. I am much more interesting than watching telly. Please come and visit me.

This kitten is ready to go home.

Can't wait to move in with Crosby and my forever mom Marina, it will be so cool. Love Lucia

Lucia is fostered in Paficica

Notes from Home
Today is 1 year since I brought Lucy home and things are still great. Crosby and Lucy are still best of buds and it is so fun to watch them together. Lucy is the sweetest little thing..well maybe not so little. We'll see what the vet says at her yearly exam in a few weeks. Lucy loves to sleep under the covers of the bed and cuddle. Treats on her cat condo are her favorite thing though. Both her and Crosby get them when I leave the house in the morning and they know exactly when that time comes. I barely have to shake the bag and she comes running and hops up to the top level of the condo. It's been a treat having her for this year and it has gone by so fast!

ARIADNE
Linette the Lynx Point - she is about 4 months old now and fiesty and FUN. She is serious about her play! She has bright blue eyes and beautiful markings on her points with spots on her tummy. She is sister to Aisling (the Blue) and Grizelda (the bicolor). Linette and her littermates tumble everywhere with each other and the other fosters. She is friendly and loves feathered wand toys and laser points - but is happy to play with a stick as well. Like her sister Aisling she tends to walk with her tail slightly curved under. She is petit like her sisters and will be a small adult. Come meet her and her sisters - they are ready to go home!

Moving on up with Marina to live with Sheri in Sacramento!!!

Ariadne came home with me because I could see how observant and intelligent she is. In the foster setting she seemed to want to engage, but was scared to venture out. In fact, she has proved to be a very curious and smart cat, and I've enjoyed training her (and Selene) on words or phrases (and associated intonation) like "tuna," "treat," "good girl," "it's OK" and "can I hold you?"

She seems very happy in her new home. Her tail goes straight up when she hears me call her, or I play with her, or she knows that food is coming. In fact, her tail is up maybe a third of the time now, which I take as a sign of her comfort and happiness with her new surroundings. She likes her companion Selene a lot, and they chase each other up and down the stairs and often sleep together on a favorite velvet chair.

She is, however, still quite skittish. She will join Selene and me on the bed, and will purr to modest ear scratching and petting, but she quickly seems overstimulated and has to scoot away to a safe distance. So I'm just doing what she's willing to accept and occasionally and gently stretching the boundaries a bit, with generous inducements of treats. She's a very different character from Selene. I'm really enjoying the process of helping her gain confidence in her new surroundings!

SELENE
Marina (she is a Dilute (Blue) Tortie) - with medium long fur. Agate's largest female kitten. Her current favorite activity is romping with her littermates and jumping sideways while puffed up. She is fluffy and very friendly. Marina is also a snowshoe like all of her littermates and her Mother Agate. All the kittens of this litter will be larger than Agate. At three months they are almost her size now! Marina with Ruairi and Tavi appear to be the largest. Although with Marina I think it is mostly fur. She has a lovely purrsonality and would be a wonderful addition to any home. Marina and her littermates are ready for adoption!

Linette and I are going home with Sheri!

Notes from Home
Selene has adapted well to her new home. She was the first of the two cats to jump up on my bed and spend some quality time with me purring and "schnuffling" (a technical term I invented to describe her burrowing and twisting behavior as she accepts affection). Now she and Ariadne spend most nights with me. (I'm sure that the season contributes to the attractiveness of my warm bed!)

She started out practically inhaling her food, but lately she has calmed down around the feedings and has even taken to leaving some food in her dish, as if she has gained confidence that she will always have enough. She and Ariadne are getting along really well. She almost seems to "watch out" for Ariadne, who is still quite skittish.

At this point she still walks away when I approach her, but she is fully accepting of contact and affection on her terms (in the bed or sitting next to me) and will let me pick her up around feeding time and in response to the promise of a "treat." I think she's going to be a little lovebug, and I'm enjoying the process of winning her affection and confidence.

KYRA (AKA AILIS)
I LOVE to purr and cuddle and play and explore. I am an active and adorable kitten, and provide many hours of both laughter and tender moments with my foster family. I am very interactive with the 'beans here, and love hanging, talking to, and being around them. That's the Meezer in me coming out. I am part Siamese, so naturally have opinions on everything and am only too happy to whisper them in your ear.

I am curious, active, loving, and an all around cool cat. I'm lively and curious and interested in exploring, and then love nothing better than a long cuddle afterward so I can tell you ALL about it!

Come on over and visit me; prepare to be charmed!

Notes from Home
Note from Rebecca: Kyra is the prettiest and sweetest little girl! She truly smiles when she is pleased. Kyra is always ready for a game, whether it's with her brother, Aaron, or me and Max. She specializes in mousing styled play -- tight against the ground and quick as lightning. She is always up for chase games and kangaroo boxing matches with her brother. Besides being a loving and cuddly companion to Aaron, Kyra looks after him, too. One evening, poor Aaron ended up behind a closed door upstairs. Kyra came to tell me about the terrible problem and wouldn't be ignored. She took me to Aaron and he was quickly freed. Kyra is an astute observer, tuned-in to language, and shows an uncanny awareness of our conversations. She learns very quickly what words mean and expects us to hold to our stated intentions, or else! Or else? You know, or else we get the guilt treatment! Aaron, Max and I love her sooo much!! Thank you, PSR!

AARON (AKA ARMAN)
I am the rowdy one of the group. I always want to be in the middle of what is going on, and have opinions on how things should be done! I know, I look so sweet and innocent that it is hard to believe. That's part of my personality, too. Snips and snails and kitty-cat tails with a side of cuddly - that's me. I LOVE feet - can't tell you why, but they fascinate me. I also love toys, balls, people, and petting.

Come and see me for yourself. Prepare to be swayed by my charm offensive!

Fostered in San Jose

My charm offensive worked. Rebecca and Max are taking me to my forever home.

Notes from Home
Aaron is an amazing kitty! He is a goofy, BIG (yet slim), extremely considerate cat. Aaron's body movements are quite exotic. For example, he bobbles his head about when he is delighted with us. He sometimes sings pretty little songs when he finds no one is near. He loves to play around our feet. For Aaron, having a toy converge with a human foot is possibly the best thing that could ever happen. In fact, sometimes he gently hugs one, just because he loves feet so much. Aaron likes to organize his toys. He keeps them in a mesh gym bag which he likes to climb into for toy-filled tours around the house. Aaron's play style is expansive and energy efficient -- not as relentless and nuanced as his sister's. He prefers the ramrod approach when hitting targets on ground, and he delights in practicing birding skills when toys take flight. Aaron amazes us with his ability to remember where every last thing in the house belongs. If anything changes, he approaches the offending item with great concern, raises a paw and strikes it two or three times. What a tyrant! But a sweet tyrant, just the same. Aaron loves his sister. They spend long naps together in each others arms. Awwwwww.

SCARLETT
Geri is a Blue Lynx Point with touches of orange ( so a semi tortie point as well). Geri is loving, friendly, likes to be held and to be cuddled. Geri is on the quiet side and not one to chat much. She is FAST to catch toys and to chase them. She loves anything with feathers and little mousie toys. Geri carries toys around and will play for hours with it - if one of the other kittens didn't grab it away. THEN the chase is on! She is very sweet natured, charming and friendly to all - dogs included.

Notes from Home
I am so happy in my forever home! Mommy and Daddy think I'm the most beautiful little girl and my sister, Savannah is so much fun! We love to chase each other up and down the hallway and the stairs and in the living room and in the fireside room. We have four great cat trees and more mice than I have ever seen before. It is fun having so many places to climb high. Savannah and I make Mommy and Daddy laugh so much that they sometimes ignore the T.V. and watch us! Daddy calls me his "little biscuit" because I fling myself at him and head butt his chin whiskers while "making biscuits" furiously on his chest and purring my loudest! Mommy calls me Scarlotti Biscotti and plays with me with feather toys. I leap and flip and do all of my acrobatics with great enthusiasm. I hope that every kitty will get a forever home like mine. I'll write again when Mommy lets me have the computer.
Love,
Scarlett

Yay! Shay-Shay and me is going to Palm Desert to live the high life with Meowmy Deborah and PawPaw Richard. I gonna be the boss of everything and we gonna be spoiled rottens, uh, I mean we gonna receive everything that is our due as princesses, a course . . . hee-hee

Notes from Home
What ladiesl!! Although we have had these girls (Shay-Ling and Mei-Ling) for only a few months, we feel as though they have been with us forever. I don't know how else to describe them except to say (as our vet put it) they are elegant. I don't know how we got along without them. Diana M. (the girls foster mom) told us "They never walk anywhere they can run." That is the truest statement ever. Since these two young ladies have the total run of the house (and believe me, they do run the house), they enjoy chasing one another, or just running for the shear joy of it. They seem to have adjusted to their new surroundings with very little hesitation. The first night was a little scary for them, new surroundings and sounds. But the following day they owned the place. They are inqusitive about everything, and leave no stone unturned. They are currently discovering just how easy it is to open the cupboard doors. They are both quite adept at that little trick.

Mei-Ling has just mastered opening drawers. What a treat to find a kitter rummaging through stuff in the middle of the night. She (Mei-Ling) is also an accomplished chicken thief. We mistakenly left some chicken in the sink to thaw one day, and before we knew it, that young lady had not only eaten part of it, she invited her friend to join in the festivities. We dined on gormet hot dogs that night.

Will share more when they find new adventures, so stay tuned. Thank you Siamese Rescue.

SHAY-LING
Look out here come the Ling sisters! I a gorgeous seal point girl and a total lap baby too. Not to worry if you doing something. I just climbs right up onto your chest and wait. I just a tiny little girl you hardly notice me there at all. Foster Meowmy say we look like little dolls, but we acts like little monkeys. Hmmm, wonder what that means . . . hee-hee.

[Note from Foster Meowmy: Better pictures coming as soon as I can get Shay-Shay to sit still somewhere other than my lap!]

WOWEE, did we score big time! We gots a Meowmy and a PawPaw too - two laps, no waiting . . . Mys little sisser, Mei-Mei, is coming too and we stay together furrever. Purrrrrrrrrr

KODY BROOKS
Brooks is a Seal Point 4 month old kitten. He is sleek, long legged, slowly filling out, and on the small side. Friendly and fun! He is always to be found in a lap , on your shoulder, OR trying his best to reach you. He is VERY friendly and wants very much to be with you if not ON you. He is game for anything with a feather! He can bounce and pounce with all sized cats or kittens and knows no stranger. He is a little lover boy.

WOW am I lucky or what - I will be a traveling th USA with Dawn and John!

Notes from Home
Kody has been the best addition to our family. He purrs all the time even when he is playing. Kody and his sibling Squirty get along very well. Kody is very active and likes to chew everything, nothing goes unchecked in our house. He is a goofy boy always looking for a laugh. We love him very much.
