HAMMOND
Hammond is a beautiful 1/2 Siamese/Russian Blue. He is very affectionate by nature and loves to play fetch! Yes fetch. I have yet to get my Doxies to do this but can play fetch all day with this kitten!!! Playful, loves to be picked up and held in your arms, and to be on your lap. He has lovely green-gold eyes, and his fur coat looks and feels like silk velvet. Hammond will run up to greet you when you enter a room, and ask for you to pick him up! When you put him down he will let you know that it was WAY too soon! He is a cuddle bug. He is friendly and playful with the other fosters and would play with the dogs if they were interested. Hammond would love to be your companion!

Visto and I are off to our forever home!

Notes from Home
Just another update. Both Visto and Hammond are doing great. They are completely settled in at there new home and very happy. Both are so sweet and loving. They have met their vet and had checkup and all went well. We just love our new family. They both follow me around the house and want to be in the same room as me. They have their own beds and other special places around the house. Hammond has his special toys that I made him and he will fetch them all day long if he had his way. Whenever he wants to play he brings me the toy and drops it on my lap. Then it is fetch time as Long as I can go. Visto and Hammond run around the house and wrestle and attack each other. Then later they lick and groom each other. Visto is the little alpha male and can get a bit
ikbossy with Hammond, BUT Visto LOVES Hammond and constantly grooms his face. Visto is the little cuddle bug and still makes his little kitten squeeks and purrs constantly and still makes his little churpy happy bird type sounds. We are delighted with both of them and they make the household complete and happy. So just saying thanks again and letting you know how happy we all are together

I adore people and love to snuggle under the covers at night......also great with re-doing hairstyles especially while you sleep!

Hehehe....fostermom put up a pic of me showing the spotty bits.....and my runway model figure!

CHEVY
FOSTERED IN CAPITOLA
Notes from Home
Hello...Prior to adopting Chevy, we had numerous questions about introducing him to our other recently adopted male kitty, Chai, which we had adopted a couple of months prior. Thankfully Stephanie (Foster mom) suggested that there was a higher likelihood that male cats would bond...brotherly love. Well, let me tell you...after just a few days...they became friends and within a couple weeks, they became best buddies.

Below, I will show you a chronological diary of sorts, of the introduction and progress:

01/19/09 Adopted Chevy
Stephanie's (foster mom's) prediction held true...Chevy meowed a couple times as we left the foster home; but he slept the whole ride home...I've never had a cat that didn't howl in the car....this is a first! He's all set up in the bathroom, (his first safe room). He's still pretty scared, staying in the back of the carrier. Sometime during the night, he ate a little, drank and used the kitty litter. He also pulled one of the towels and his fleece blanket out onto the floor of the bathroom, spreading out, I guess. LOL!

01/20/09
Chevy has warmed up to both me and Mike. He is eating just fine and using his litterbox. Per Stephanie's suggestion, tomorrow I am going to put his and Chai's scents on different towels and let them get use to each others scents. So far, Chai's reaction has been quite comical. First, he had no idea Chevy was in the bathroom until about 3:00 am Monday Morning when Chevy decided to rearrange his bedding in the bathroom. We placed a towel under and in front of the door so they couldn't slip their paws or claws under the door. So, Chai was quite spooked and woke us up telling us there was something in the bathroom. Because Chevy had not yet meowed, Chai didn't realize it was a feline friend. Until last night, when after petting Chevy for sometime, I left the bathroom and Chevy started meowing. Chai ran to the bathroom door (hair bushed) and started digging at the towel that we had placed in front of the door. Then today, they both have been talking to each other through the door. Then, Chai decided he was going to bail Chevy out (LOL)....thank God I had locked the bathroom door from the inside...cuz Chai knows how to open the doors. I pray that he doesn't explain the maneuvers to Chevy during one of their chats, because the door will automatically unlock if Chevy turns the handle from the inside. LOL! The next few days should be interesting.

01/24/09
Well, we did the condo swap; then we did the room swap, we also have been letting Chevy wonder the house on his own for a little while each day, while Chai has been locked in his room. Then, yesterday, we let them into the family room together. They did pretty well, a little hissing and growling and posturing...no blood shed, thank God. I played with the "wand" with both of them, one on one side of me and the other on the other side. I tried to get them come a bit closer, but...that was a bit much for them. Chai jumped in and sat in the chair that I usually sit in, (he sits in my lap, most of the time) and when Chevy came round, Chai meowed and growled, as if he was telling Chevy "this is mine, and I'm not sharing." LOL! Then, Chevy wondered around the house, while Chai followed. Last night, when I was on the computer, Chai sat in my lap and Chevy sat in Mike's lap for a while and then, Chevy came over and laid under my chair. It was interesting watching the posturing yesterday, after awhile Chevy intentionally walked in front of Chai, about 6 inches from him....Chai just watched, Then, Chevy decided to drink from Chai's water bowl and use his kitty litter...Chai wasn't too sure about that. This morning we let them out together, and Chevy decided to eat from Chai's bowl, Chai definitely didn't like that, growling at him. Today, I took one of Chai's favorite toys and while Chai sat on my lap I played a little with Chevy. Chai did not like that at all....and made both Chevy and I aware that this particular toy is off limits (at least for now). LOL It's interesting, Chevy does more hissing telling Chai to "back off", while Chai growls, telling Chevy "no way, bud". We have had to get in the middle a couple of times when they were trying to work it out...thinking the growling and hissing was getting out of hand.

(Additional note to the reader: I spend a lot of time with Chevy during the day. Chevy occasionally sits on my lap, kneading and purring. Chevy and Chai trade off times where they get to roam the house while the other is in their respective safe room. Then, we try to let them together for a bit, until something happens, which causes a time out. If I leave the house, they both go into their respective safe rooms).

01/26/09
Well how interesting...this morning, Chai went in to use Chevy's litter and Chevy swatted at him while Chai was in the box. So then, Chevy went to use Chai's litter and when Chai went to sniff...Chevy hunched down in the box, ears back, hissing. As of yesterday, Chai started to really try to make friends, by going up to Chevy gently and sniffing noses, tail, etc. and even letting him eat from his food bowl. Chai doesn't seem to growl anymore; but, Chevy continues to hiss, run and hide (poor little guy). I think maybe Chai's aggressive chasing behavior (for which he has gotten many timeouts), has spooked Chevy. :( The good news, still no bloodshed and the couple times that there has been swatting, there were no claws involved.

1/30/09
Well, I think Chai has gotten the message from the timeouts. Yesterday, they spent the whole day together and, Chai only got one time out for starting the chase; then, he looked at me and ran, because he hates being locked in the bathroom, it's the only door he can't open (too small of an area for him to jump) The last several nights, I have slept with Chevy in the guest room...I think this made him feel much more at home. Last night, he followed me throughout the house, as if telling me...isn't it time for bed? Then, we let Chai join us in the morning and they both have actually been on the bed together, without incidence. Right now, Chevy is laying in the sun cleaning himself and Chai is in another room also laying in the sun. They seem to be tolerating each other. :)

1/30/09 evening...SUCCESS!!!
Tonite...they were sleeping next to each other...curled up back to back....oh my :)

1/31/09
This morning the tables were turned, Chevy chased Chai...they were playing together and are having a great time. And, at mealtime this morning, when Chai was done eating, even though Chevy still had food in his bowl, he went over to Chai's bowl to eat some of his food. Chai could care less. Life is good...the cats are happy; they have been together all morning.

2/2/09
I was just downstairs, in our bedroom and lo and behold, they were both on the bed and Chai was cleaning Chevy...life is good!
2/4/09
Last night was the first night we let both Chai and Chevy come to bed in our room, together. It was funny...Chevy slept across one leg and Chai slept across the other....I had difficulty moving. LOL! Sometime during the night or morning Chevy brought his little pipecleaner fish into bed, sent home with him from Foster Mommy, Stephanie. This morning he was playing with it in bed. Well, Chai wanted to play with Chevy and Chevy was only interested in his fish...so Chai grabbed the fish and took off running with it....making Chevy chase him....LOL! Later, they were snuggled together in bed snoozing. They are becoming the best of friends.

2/20/09
One month update...life is good. Chevy & Chai are like brothers.

7/10/09 - 6 mo. anniversary
Everything is great. Chevy and Chai are best buds! They sleep together. Chai loves to groom Chevy. They romp all over the house, chasing each other back and forth. Sometimes things get out hand, so one of them will get a time-out; usually it's Chai, but this morning it was Chevy. Time-out consists of them being in solitude for about 30 minutes in the bathroom. Well, this morning, after 5 minutes of time-out, Chai decided to break Chevy out, by jumping up and unlatching the door lever....off they went romping....LOL! It's never a dull moment!

We have discovered that Chevy loves Turkey feathers. The turkeys provide great entertainment for the cats in their window box seats. Periodically, they will leave a gift of a feather or two for Chevy and Chai. I collect the feathers and hide them on a table and Chevy always finds them....he acts as if he actually caught the turkey; parading around with a large feather in his mouth. Chai is not really bothered by the feathers, unless he's trying to get Chevy to play, then Chai will snatch the feather, to make Chevy chase him... Chevy ALWAYS gets that feather back in his possession, it's quite funny to watch the charades. Also, we have found a wonderful result from this new toy, at least the bigger feathers. As you may remember, Chevy had a bit of gingivitis. Chevy uses the spine of the feather to clean his teeth. He bites right down the center of a large feather spine and it must act as floss or something. Anyway, he has no more signs of gingivitis, that I can see. He loves those feathers, he even brings them to bed with him. It's a hoot when one of us has rolled over onto a feather and we are awoken by him digging at and trying to free his feather.

Chevy has a new nickname: 'Bugsy". He lets us know when there is a bug in the house. He has a very distinctive meow when he sees a trespasser. One evening I heard his "bug alert meow" then, a strange noise in the hallway...come to find... it was Chevy jumping up against the wall trying to get to a spider that was about 7 feet up the wall. He reminded me of Sylvester from Looney Tunes...he'd jump up with all four paws scraping the wall, as he descended.

Yep, I think he's settled in just fine. Both cats keep us well entertained!
A special thanks to Stephanie and Leigh for their assistance in the adoption process.

1/20/12 Fast forward...3 years after adopting Chevy, who is now called (Bugsy)....
Life is grand! Bugsy (formerly Chevy) and Chai are like brothers....they still, play, eat, sleep and groom together... Sure, they have their spats (though not very often)...but, within an hour, they'll be snuggled up together, as if nothing happened. If one of them awakens and the other is not in sight...they roam the house yelping a lonesome meow, until they find their buddy. Chevy's favorite toy is still the pipecleaner fish...I've made a couple dozen for him, because he squirrels them away and brings them out on special occasions. But, 3 years later, it's still his favorite toy; while turkey feathers are a close 2nd.

Though this is the end of my update...
Here's a special note to anyone who is thinking about adopting another kitty to be friends with an existing kitty in your household...
yes, it can be done very successfully. But, do your homework first.
We were fortunate, that we spoke to both Leigh and Stephanie from Pacific Siamese Rescue BEFORE we decided to adopt Chevy. We were honest with them about our concerns...we wanted to make certain that it would be a good fit for both Chevy & Chai. Chai was an Alpha cat, Chevy was not...but, we found that out from Chevy's foster mom, Stephanie. Then, though their bonding occurred much quicker than we anticipated...we did follow each of the steps suggested, during the introduction phase.
We feel blessed; we have two happy and healthy cats.

SPIKE
Spike is the only boy in Lily's litter of four. He loves his siblings, especially Lucinda, who plays as hard as he does. He is a sweet little guy who will come up to foster mom for pets and is brave in a surprising way - the first kitten I've ever seen to confront the dreaded vacuum cleaner while it is running. (and of course he may not do that again - lol). He is ready to be visited now and will be ready to go to his furrever home at the end of July.

Fostered in Vallejo

Off I go to my furrever home today! I get my very own family for always and my buddy Nanette is already there - now her name is JuJuBee - it's going to be so great to be together again!

Notes from Home
Spike slept all the way home. When he was let out he marched up to both JuJuBee and Spot introduced himself and made himself right at home. There was a brief encounter with Spot making it known that he was the kitty in charge, but the hierarchy is set and all is well. Jesse is ecstatic to have his own kitty, and Spike has won over the toughest family member, Dad.
As you can see, all is well and they all have bonded with each other. Spike is our unflappable kitty, nothing seems to bother him and he is my gentle giant. He is so big that we forget that he is only a kitten yet and his kitten antics always make us laugh. He has become quite an acrobat with the cat catcher…he out jumps JuJuBee by about 12”. He has also learned that he can jump onto counters and his curiosity and innocent exploring has almost gotten the better of him, (hot liquids and pans). He also has started some interesting habits, shredding toilet paper and eating straw brooms and wisks. I have also caught him trying to eat tooth picks…all items are now kept out of his reach. We have changed kitty litters to see if it helps his sinuses and eye, he is quite physical in the litter box and has a tendency to lie down in it after furiously digging and before he has a bowel movement which stirs up quite a bit of dust and his nose and eye seems to react to it…Will keep you updated about that. He is always following me around the house and always seems to be under foot, even as big as he is. He’s become quite a talker but only when spoken to. He’s the first to come to bed, and the first to be in the kitchen.

JUJUBEE
Nanette is an exquisite ballerina kitty, sleek and glossy, with long slender legs and tiny feet, easily one of the most beautiful kitty girls I've ever seen. She was abandoned outside when she was not much more than a baby and left to fend for herself. She is still very wary of people but loves other cats. Nanette would do best in a quiet home with a feline friend - or friends - and a human who will allow her to come around in her own time. She enjoys play time very much - her favorite being a feather toy that she can grab from a cat tree. She's very agile and will practically do a head stand to catch her prey. Nanette is a special little girl with a lot of potential for the right adopter.

Wowee! Im going to my new home with Meowmy Diane, PawPaw and a bean brother too. and thats not all! Im getting a new furbrother named Spot and, after I get settled in, Meowmy is going to bring Spike to live with us too. Im going to be loved and taken care of furrever! Has any kitty girl ever been this lucky before? Purrrrrrrr.
Notes from Home
JuJuBee didn't quite remember her bro Spike, but it only took a couple of days for her to accept him and now we are treated to thundering kitty paws and they all take turns chasing each other and playing with the various kitty toys scattered around the house...They all seem to be meant for each other.
JuJuBee continues to blossom into the sweetest little girl. She loves to be with the family when we are watching TV and around the table. She has her perch that is not too close, but not too far away from us by the window. She is always curious about what is going on at the table and we find her sitting on the empty chair peeking over the table so that only her eyes clear the edge. She jumps up and lays on my legs when I am laying down on the couch and is starting to look forward to pets if you don’t move too quickly. The running away is now becoming a game so every now and then it turns into a game of tag…She comes running from where ever she is to play with the catch a cat when we start up with Spike and Spot. The other day she was purring and kneading the kitty bed that was placed by the window so that the cats had a place in the sunshine. Her place at night is either between our legs or between us below Spike. Don is waiting for the day that she truly becomes a lap kitty…
Both Spike and JuJuBee have brought a smile to our lives and we love watching them develop their own personalities.

TYR
Tyr is a beautiful creamy purebred-blue-point 3 year old. He is one of the modern Siamese fondly known as a wedgie. Like brother Thor --- Tyr is an elegant, slim, stylish, flexible and well muscled body with a triangular shaped, a thin snout, with eyes that are almond-shaped oblique and deep set, the ears large and thin. He has a long neck, body and tail. Tyr as well as Thor has short, glossy, fine, and very soft fur that lies close to his body. He has a deep voice and is one of the Siamese that will chat with you. Tye and brother Thor have settled into the foster household very well. Tyr is very affectionate and will come up and ASK for attention.Very companionable and people oriented. Loves laser points, feathered wands, and string. Tyr loves laps - if brother Thor beats him to to your lap he will MAKE room by either sitting on his brother or whatever other critter is there before him. (Particularly the dogs :) He loves ANY attention you will give him. The modern Siamese has a very angular look as you can see from the photos. Tyr and his brother Thor are a very beautiful, lovable, and can be comical- pair!

Tyr and brother Thor have moved to Long Beach! Sun, fun and love with their new family!

We love our boys Thor and Tyr! We adopted them into our happy home in September and as you can tell by the pictures, they have settled themselves in quite nicely. Tyr is the rambunctious one (he dragged out our dirty laundry from the hamper last night piece by piece to play with in the living room) and Thor is the love bug that is glued to one of us constantly, gazing adoringly up at us. Carol, Susan, and Mary from PSR were all instrumental in getting these boys to us (especially Susan who drove them down to our home in Long Beach for us!) and we're so very thankful. We feel our family is complete now and we're looking forward to the crazy times ahead. Thanks Siamese Rescue! Pictures can be found on his brother Thor's update!

He is not a chatty cat and is the quieter more laid back of the two. Thor LOVES lap time and ANY attention. If your lap is occupied by dog or cat he will lean into you so you can scratch his back - when you stop for a moment he will turn and pat you to continue, then he will gradually work his way INTO your lap. He is more subtle than brother Tyr. Very Playful with feathered wands and will chase the laser point. Playful with our fosters and friendly with the dogs. Thor and his brother Tyr are endearing and very loving. These two have been together a long time and should be adopted together.

Thor and brother Tyr have moved to Long Beach! Sun, fun and love with their new family!

HIROKI
No one knows what really happened to me for sure, but they are suspicious that I'm a casualty of the current economy. You see I was found wandering cold and hungry in a neighborhood backyard. Thank goodness a nice lady took pity on me, gave me some food and brought me into her house. After trying for weeks to find my family, she finally gave up and contacted PSR to see if they could find a home for me. Well....here I am and boy am I ready to have a home of my own. While I'm a bit shy at first, I love to be petted and have human attention. I've also never known a kitty that I haven't liked either, so I'm a great all-around type of guy. Foster mom feels though I would do best with a female owner. It seems there may have been a bad male human in my past and I have a hard time forgetting that. Please come and visit me.

This cat is not suitable for children under the age of 5 (ie 5 and over is OK). This is typically a cat that is shy and a child might scare it, or one that has a potential to bite or play too hardNot with kids under 5

Notes from Home
Hiroki has lived with us for over a year now, and he's doing great. He is very affectionate, and he melts when you rub his neck . . . He pals around with his older sis "Mitzi", and they have become partners in crime, chasing each other all over the house. Hiroki started sleeping on the bed with us after only 1 month with us, shortly after he decided he wanted to see more than just his own room! He is very happy, and enjoys the company of kitties, though he hides when we have visitors. He has come to love his daddy a lot, and he snuggles up to him on the bed at night. We are bringing a new kitty into the fold soon, and Hiroki will probably seek her approval. He worships Mitzi & the post she scratches on!

I'm still a little overwhelmed with my trip here from Sacramento yesterday. I was obviously someone's beloved pet as I am in great shape and spayed but somehow I found my way into a park and was trapped. No one ever came to get me and you know what that means so I have been waiting & hoping cause I just knew someone would come to help me and here I am.....thanks PSR and some wonderful Sacramento rescue people.

I'm looking around now at my new digs, eating and starting to purr so all will be well soon. My gorgeous classic apple head siamese good looks are going to melt the heart of someone special I know. I am as gentle as they come...wouldn't hurt a fly although I did manage to give McGee a backoff notice today! hehe! Why does he think everyone loves him !!??

If you want a peaceful, easy and loving girl with no problems at all.....just come check me out....I'm turn key!
FOSTERED IN CAPITOLA

PS....I'm starting to relax well but HATE the camera....that thing is evil I'm sure!!

Holy cow.....the `bestest' family in the whole world drove all the way from Truckee to get me!!! Dear Donn and Barb are my new peoples and now I will finally get the princess treatment I KNOW I deserve! I feel like Cinderella....you may take me to my palace now! Thanks PSR and Christine for giving me the chance to find my new home!
Notes from Home
Sinclair (now called Tahnee) is enjoying her life with us in Truckee. She really is Queen of the House now. She has developed a wide range of vocal musical sounds including several different ways to purr. We haven’t figured out all of them yet, but hope we will be smart enough to figure them out eventually. She has a new boyfriend – Donn – and rarely lets him out of her sight as you can see from the photos. She will jump up on our bed and sleep with us; she loves to have her tummy rubbed! She also likes to perch on Donn's tummy during the the night. She loves her feather on a stick toy and jumps and pounces on it. Occasionally Tahnee will jump up and cuddle with Donn when we are watching TV. She really doesn't like to be held, but we think that eventually she may come to like it.
She is even coming out of hiding to greet our guests and if they are patient, she’ll let them play with her. Her personality seems to be expanding as she is more and more relaxed and comfortable with us.
We are extremely pleased with the way Tahnee has ingratiated herself into our lives.

SARAH
Wow - I'm not much more than a kitten myself, but here I am a Mommy already. I am one of the sweetest girls around. I love pets, laps, head butts - any human attention is my favorite thing! Other kitties are pretty nice, too...

My sweet babies were born 10/10/10 - what a lucky day! I am such a good Mama, too - I make sure they are fed, clean and watched over. Once my babies are weaned and I get spayed, I will be happy to grace your home with my beautiful snowshoe presence. XO, Portia

Another name change - and this one will stick! She's now Sarah, and she's a love. She's still quite skittish when out and about in the house and won't let us approach her except for in her "safe" places. But one of her safe places is my office where I have a comfy arm chair. Today we took a nap together with her curled up in my lap for over an hour! She is beautiful, sweet, and playful. She and the two girls we already had aren't bonded yet, but there is very little hissing and they will sometimes sit on the same wide window sill. I think they'll all be friends before too long.

Notes from Home
Siamese Rescue is Awesome! We love our little Giovanni Fugazi! Our interviewer and foster mom were knowledgeable, thorough and helped us pick out a cat that suits us best! Over the past several months, Mr. Fugazi has become even more friendly and lovable then the day we met him. He is still full of energy and loves to talk. Every evening he gets lots of play time with his catcher then rehydrates with a drink from the bathroom faucet. He sleeps in our bed with us every night and is always in the same room! We just love him soo much! He is also very playful pouncing on our feet when we get up in the morning as well as generous. Several mornings ago, we woke up to find presents in my purse - such as toy mice, toilet paper rolls and toothpaste capes as well as a toy soccer ball in each of Allen's shoes!

love,
Stephanie, Allen and Giovanni Fugazi
